A Girl's Delicate Pose

Minuscule details result in a photo being interesting or uninteresting. Which is why photographing something within a millisecond is so important.

For me with this particular photograph, it's the girl’s hand on her shoulder, head laid back and eyes looking over in my direction that made this photo for me. That whole moment was lost one second later and this is what I find interesting.

This is the magic of a candid wedding photograph. Also an example of the frustration it can cause. If you are not ready to take a photo, you can so easily see a beautiful photograph that you saw with your eyes but completely miss the moment with your camera because you weren’t ready.

People have asked me why I post what I post - so there is a short explanation.

Photographed on Ilford Delta 3200 pushed to 6400. It resulted in higher grain and contrast, and allowed me to shoot with a faster shutter.
