My Custom Leather Strap

I've been needing a wrist strap for a while but I couldn't find one that fit good or stayed on tight.

While going through Kensington Market (Toronto) I noticed the leather jackets outside Al's shop.

He noticed that my camera strap was broken and suggested to make one for me. I was ecstatic. He began the process with cutting the leather then taping, sewing, measuring, etc. All while him and I acquainted ourselves with each other.

He told us of his family from Iraq and how he is in the family lineage of Ishmael. At the end of the hour I made a new friend and now have a beautiful strap. I am so thankful that the strap I now have came with an experience and wasn't just picked off of a website or a rack in a store.

The advantage of a wrist strap is that you can grab your camera within a second of seeing something you want to photograph and less photographs go missed.

It’s worth it - since I received this strap I have only been shooting with this camera.
